No you're not. You'd do it again given the chance.

After 90 generations, the voice from the outer world appeared with the third nipple, also known as the inner nipple spoken of as the gate that leads within to inner realms and spaces of higher consciousness.

Re: Ranking FH's Other Books
That was a good one Inhuien. But you may keep her, I'll take this one.
When deciding what to read from an author's out-of-series books, as in the case of nonDune books by Frank, how do y'all decide in what order to read them? I know this question is similar to in what order should they be read, but I was just wandering what criteria do you use in deciding in what order you read books? Publication date? Date of setting? Or just plain availability?

Having been in the fire alarm business for 15 years I've never seen a fireman that looked like that.
Here's a more realistic picture:

I think that was the runner=up at this year's beauty pageant at the fireman's carnival. She was robbed.Freakzilla wrote:Having been in the fire alarm business for 15 years I've never seen a fireman that looked like that.

Re: Ranking FH's Other Books
I finished this a couple weeks ago and I'm glad I stuck with it. Things didn't really start to take shape for me until about 100 pages in, by about 200 pages it really takes off, and the ending is pretty .Freakzilla wrote:There is a lot of technobable but the ending makes it all worthwhile.Cro-Mags wrote:Reading Destination : Void now and I'll be honest, I'm finding it a little too - clinical and technical.
Picked up the Jesus Incident the other day for a buck (awesome used book store here usually has all his other works) and will tackle after I finish this tasty William Gibson novel.
I'm really digging FH's other stuff, of course they don't have the epic scope of Dune, but thematically there's a lot to sink your teeth into. And they sure beat the shamelessly shallow sequel/prequel/inbetweenquels.

Don't worry, you're about to get a boatload of Epic with The Jesus Incident - not quite Dune, but damned good.
Bill Ransom really adds a lot in that series, you'll love it.

Out of the books I've read, and in no particular order.
The Dragon and the Sea
Whipping Star
Destination: Void
The Santarago Barrier
Soul Catcher
I haven't yet read, The White Plague, The Green Brain, Direct Descent and Hellstrom's Five.

Or The Jesus Incident, or The Lazarus Effect, or the Ascention Factor... The Heaven Makers, Eyes of Heisenberg, I'm sure we're missing even more, just can't think of them all right now. FH actually was fairly prolific, he put out a good number of books.
