Sparafucile
Hello all. Resurfacing again
I keep meaning to try to get back into the whole dune discussion but I find it very hard, especially after I haven't read the books in a long time. But I'm trying to reread them (halfway through GEoD.. best of the bunch) and hopefully I'll begin to contribute something.
Though I rarely post, I read the various dune boards y'all post at daily (DN, TAU, Jac, Fed2K, etc) when I get in to work to see what shenanigans you crazy kids get up to (ironically, I'm probably younger than most if not all of you) I have to admit I revel in the drama and love reading about it, even though I'm not part of it. I think I'd actually like soap operas if they were about something other than infedelity/secret fathers and mothers/murder/other nonsense.
Anyway, read Dune a long long time ago, didn't like it. Revisited it 2 or 3 years ago and chugged through to Children of Dune (which completely and utterly baffled me when I last tried to read it) and kept going from there. I'm a proud OH (ideally) as far as book likings go. I admit I haven't read the first 2 trilogies, but my friend had and he told me about them. Can't say I'm eager, but maybe I'll read 'em some day. Read the two sequels, wasn't impressed.
I find it interesting to hear other people's takes on the various inconsistencies present throughout the books (yes, originals included), often I learn things I didn't catch the last time I read the book in question.
Anyways, hi!

Aye! GEoD is the best book ever!

Re: Sparafucile
Welcome.
There's naught wrong with murders, neither on soap operas nor on forums!sparafucile wrote:I think I'd actually like soap operas if they were about something other than infedelity/secret fathers and mothers/murder/other nonsense.
More like, there's more than more than enough off topic discussion to go around.GP wrote:Don't worry about it. There's more than enough off topic discussion to go around.
In memory of Perach, who suffered and died needlessly.
I wish I could have been with you that one last time.

Paul of Dune was so bad it gave me a seizure that dislocated both of my shoulders and prolapsed my anus.
