How do you find out Sisterhood's ranking? I've Googled everything I can think of, and all I can find are the top 35 NYT best sellers, and Sisterhood ain't on it.
As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Hypatia approaches one.

and it never was. The hack may say whatever he likes but the book was NOT on the NYT bestseller list. I think he guessed his fanboys wouldn't check whether it was true or not so a "small" lie wouldn't do any harm.Mandy wrote:How do you find out Sisterhood's ranking? More than likely, it was under consideration/investigation but didn't make it into the top echelon.
From the reviews on Amazon, it seems like only the die-hard kjasf'ers liked Shit McDune Says

I'm sure it was *shortlisted* for the NYT bestseller list, though.

I'm still very proud of The Quarry but … let's face it; in the end the real best way to sign off would have been with a great big rollicking Culture novel.

Re: "Bestseller"? O RLY?
So, according to the hack number 23 on a list means best selling? I always thought "best" was one of a kind...

I'm not sure he can claim that ... I mean, I looked all over that list ... there is no book there by "Kevin J. Anderson" .....

Re: "Bestseller"? O RLY?
Looks like it only made the list once and then dropped off right away. Is that right? I don't think that has happened before, they usually linger in the top 35 for a few weeks, don't they?SandChigger wrote:Is that the lowest debut yet for one of these shit-squeezed-between-covers sammies?HeavyASSBitch on Amazon wrote:It's number 23 the week of Jan. 22

Re: "Bestseller"? O RLY?
Pretty sure it's the lowest. And, technically, the NYT lists a top 15 — a bunch of books below that are classified as "also selling."SandChigger wrote:Is that the lowest debut yet for one of these shit-squeezed-between-covers sammies?HeavyASSBitch on Amazon wrote:It's number 23 the week of Jan. 22

Also, it's not on the Jan. 29 or Fed. 5 lists at all. So: one and done. Not that that will stop Keith from crowing about it endlessly ...

Re: "Bestseller"? O RLY?
It was only on the print/hardcover list, not on the ebook list. Given that it showed up 20 days after its debut, I wonder how much of that was due to deep discounting at retail.
The name Atreides was also consciously chosen. It is the family name of Agamemnon. Says Herbert, "I wanted a sense of monumental aristocracy, but with tragedy hanging over them--and in our culture, Agamemnon personifies that."
