That sure is a strange way to think about Compost, rather than it ripen does it not degrade? Although thanks for the heads up I'll remember not to take any "ripe" fruit you offer me:)

Ah, but Ripe can mean stinky, so while it doesn't ripen in the usuall meaning of the word, it certainly does get stinky.

Ah, that is for certain. When my compost maker-thingy gets full and I move it to start a new batch, it smells like a herd of diarrhetic cattle have passed (and I do mean PASSED) through.
