Hi everyone,
I've a wee favour to ask. Is there anyone out there who has used Audacity. What I need to do is slice up some mp3 files, the files in question are about 17meg(3 bits) and 14meg(2 bits). This is just an attack of the lazzies and any help would very much appreciated.
edit to add
Thanks for reading the files in question have been delt with.

Tough crowd. (I just looked at the poll results and saw that two people have dissed ya. )
You're on Windows, right? I assume it works the same on all platforms; I use it on the G5 in the office.
I haven't tried doing what you want to do (divide the 17 MB into 3 parts and the 14 MB into 2, right?), but I have pared files down to a more manageable size. (One of Kevin's silly interviews; I cut off the stuff before he came on and after.)
If I were me, I'd select a section of the file and Cut it (or whatever it's called in Windows), open a new file and paste what I'd cut into it.
I don't know that that will work.
Another alternative, if you've loads of disk space, is to duplicate the files and cut & discard bits from them and rename what's left (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, etc).
I'm just guessin.
(If there's a SPLIT function, you could divide the file into sections and then paste sections into a new file, maybe?)
Who was it going on about audio the other day....Mr Eternal Thang and someone else.....
