Hi all,
long time reader, I figured I might finally join this board.
I hail from France (so I hope you'll forgive my not so perfect English), I'm 25 and recently graduated from law school.
I discovered Dune via video-games and Lynch's movie when I was 10.
Then I read the books, and try to reread at least one of the series installment each year.
My favorite character as a teenager was Paul (obviously: the hero, with the beautiful girl, superpowers, becomes emperor of the universe). Then, as I grew up, I realized how an utter failure Paul 's life had been...
These past couple of years I really grew up fond of Leto II. I might say he is one of the most astonishing character ever incorporated in a work of fiction, in my humble opinion of course.
My other interests (if anyone cares ): ice-hockey, medieval history, Japan (its culture primarily, though I started learning the language very recently)...
That's about it fellas!

Bonjour mon ami. Welcome. Looking forward to getting to know you better.
Don't worry about the English, I'm American and can't speak the bloody language. So you now you know that there is at least one person on this board whom you will be able to speak better than.
You shall find some very interesting people on this board.

What fear is there in the night?

Thank you to all of you for your warm welcome!
I gladly join my water to yours.
Actually I joined "De Dune à Rakis" under my current username, but I never received my activation email. Since the forum is unfortunately becoming more and more like the deep desert, I figured out I might join a more active "dunian" community.
Have you ever posted over there on Dune à Rakis?
Oh and thank you for your offer regarding Japan, I'll be sure to ask you if I have any question. Thanks again.
This is gonna get rowdy

hihi, there are some good people in the legal field. I tried using Herbert's quotes once in an essay regarding environmental law and policies. You don't wanna know what the T.A. said...Omphalos wrote:

Calling orald a naughty boy and invoking da rowdy?!
This is not going to be pretty.
But it should be FUN!
Yes it's gonna be FUN!
Mark my words
Hey my friend. I know your country fairly well...A Thing of Eternity wrote:Welcome. I'm from Canada, and thus well versed in the superiority of the French.
Hope you enjoy it here, great group of people to talk to.
I am currently finishing my Masters thesis in France for my masters program at the University of Montreal
I spent last year in Montreal and also one year studying at the University of Ottawa...
I am planning to leave France for good and come back to your beautiful country next year!

so many jokes, so little time.
welcome Atreyuh... another Canadian here. Could you possibly arrange to have the Quebecois all shipped back to France?
So that when I come back to Canada only québécoises are left...
