Re: Kevin J. Anderson: Pumped on Dune
So there are several quotes proving that there is Atreus("Atrides" in French, only one letter changes)ligneage in the Atreides family.
So KJA chose the TItan Agamemnon's name according to this, or did he intend to make us believe the Agamemnon "'demanding audience" was in fact the Titan?
Is there a place on the KJAStupidForum where these things can be adressed?
I wil open my account today and start asking annoying questions
Not only it is inconsistent but impossible too, I mean htf a character from a book possesses knowledge from the writer of that book?
I can picture TheHikin'Hack "all right atreides go back to agamemnon, greek king, titans were from greek legends, yeah greek king cool, Agamemnon was atreides(stone in shoe must stop, ok found it lets go)ok ok, titans, greece, agamemnon... hey that's a cool name, subtle reference to greek ancestry,I'll call him titan agamemnon(even if i find it hard to say a-ga-mem-non),wait wait i can feel another surge of creation fuzzy is a redhead and if he has a beard i'd call him barbarossa yeah that's cool! back to business, words are time is money, yeah love it, he chooses a name at random from old myths that thousands of years later turns out it is really his ancestor, people won't believe what a visionary I am and at last I'll be recognized for my uncompromising talent and I'll win lots of awards(and then I can change wives for a less ugly one I can't wait)(mental note: erase the part about the wife)"
nb: btw "Vorian" in French is very close to "vaurien" phonetically, which means someone useless/worthless or a scoundrel, maybe hikin' JAK has a french dictionary somewhere?

I think that may have been the initial plan. But no one but the dumbass preeqs have fallen for it.lotek wrote:So KJA chose the TItan Agamemnon's name according to this, or did he intend to make us believe the Agamemnon "'demanding audience" was in fact the Titan?
Who exactly the name "Agamemnon" refers to differs depending on the book it's in. In House Atrocious, for example, it refers unambiguously to the Mycenaean king. (Maybe KJA hadn't come up with the Titan backstory yet?)

Wow, he really doesn't sound professional in that interview.
What's he mean by that? What are the "original ones"? The first three or up to CH:D?We found Frank Herbert's full and complete outline for "Dune 7," the last Dune book that he was going to do, which is set far in the future from the original ones.

It's the "full and complete" that gets me and how that description degraded over time.Slugger wrote:Wow, he really doesn't sound professional in that interview.

What bothers me too is that they didn't use the complete outline because then there wouldn't have been a need to bring in their own convulsions like the normacle, omnious and erassmus. Of course it becomes debatable whether there indeed is a full an complete outline.Freakzilla wrote:It's the "full and complete" that gets me and how that description degraded over time.Slugger wrote:Wow, he really doesn't sound professional in that interview.

Woah. I'm surprised Keith has aged so poorly considering he hikes all the time and is a paragon of healthy living.

Re: Kevin J. Anderson: Pumped on Dune
This forum's take on everything would make for a great book.
An Author's universe, sabotaged by another author is mysteriously haunted by characters from the books, driven mad. The book ends, finding the man commits suicide, claiming one of the characters was after him, and there is evidence an attack. But no one sees it.
Short Story. I'll get to it.
