You must mean waaay north, because I went swimming in Lake Superior the other day and it wasn't that cold. There were actually families at the beach with little kids like it was the freakin' Bahamas.

When I was younger it would've been a silly thing to do, but I've gone swimming there now for the last 4 years and it's getting warmer and warmer every summer.
I was just on Lake Michigan a few weeks ago (and in the Twin Cities airport, too, Nekhrun!) and we were remarking how much warmer it is there yearly too.

Really? My parents live north of Green Bay in Door County. That's close to where you were/are? Or are you talking about the airport? that place is WAY too confusing.

It's only getting more confusing with all of the new signs they've posted around here. They renamed the terminals for the 2nd time and spent a few million replacing the signs yet again. I live just outside of Minneapolis, and am about 15 min. from the airport. Let me know next time you come through.

When I go to Lake Superior though I generally just go to Duluth, MN or Bayfield, WI.

Last Friday I drove up for a burger, beer and a swim then drove back home.

I've been wanting to take a trip up there just to see Garrison Keillor ....
I've seen the road show several times over the years, but I'd like to
see the Fitzgerald Theatre ...

He's got a little bookstore in St. Paul as well that he's pretty active with. The Fitzgerald Theater is a nice little venue, unfortunately St. Paul pretty much shuts down after 5:00 unless there's a Wild game or an outdoor concert. They're trying to change that, but once the Capitol folks leave work for the day the town just goes quiet. It's kind of creepy.

Sacramento was exactly like that when I moved here 15 years ago. It's like they rolled up the sidewalks at 6pm. Now the nightlife is thriving.

Pushing 90 degree's on the mountain today as I got some mowing done. That's pretty damn hot for 7100 feet above sea level.

Was away from the office for 5 days and it was a frickin' oven this morning.

And when I got off the highway, the semi (cicadas) were singing to beat the band. Nary so much as a peep yet up in Iwaki.

Hot. Hot. HOT!

And I ain't complaining, btw! Beats the cold, rainy shit ANY DAY!

It's been cool here the last couple of weeks, only in the mid-nineties.

Don't you hate it when you come up with something like this and the following posters just completely ignore it? :snooty:

Yeah, I'm a winny. I don't care for 100+ temps and heat indexes with so much humidity. Dry heat, wet heat, it's all dang blum hot
