Lol, I'd love to have Kevin sign a shirt like that, or the "No KJA" one, but I shudder at the thought of him touching my back, even through a shirt, and only with the pen.

I'm enjoying the fact that the new film is coming out. Can't wait to see it. Perhaps the third time will be the charm?

You never know but given the track record of non Frank Herbert DUNE creative ventures I'm not holding my breath. The best one was that pen and paper RPG by Last Unicorn Games and that was canned before release.

I don't play computer games, so I can't compare. The last thing I played, I believe, was a game called Myst many years ago.

Some never participate. Life happens to them. They get by on little more than dumb persistence and resist with anger or violence all things that might lift them out of resentment-filled illusions of security.

With the comb-over and fuzzy-head as advisory directors, or whatever there function is, on the set? ... I doubt it very much.

If he doesn't let you be free and show your pics wearing a thong in support of the OH he is not only a schauvinistic oppressor, but also a blasphemous Preek, which is much much worse! :x

You really didn't get my joke? You thought it was serious?

Preek- prequel lover. Fan of the books made by Brian "Herbert" and Kevin James "Judas" Anderson supposedly happening somewhere in and around the universe of Frank Herbert's masterful Dune novels.

You've been being not very nice a lot lately. Not my fault I'm calling you out on it.

I forget who said it, but Dum spiro, spero. "While I breathe, I hope." ;)

I remember when the Lynch movie came out; went and saw it in the theater with the only other two Dune fan friends I had at the time. I've seen both mini series as well. They all had enjoyable aspects, but all fell short

Dune is probably impossible to translate to the screen...but they keep trying.

I'd like to be excited about this film, but given the current state of Hollywood and my belief that the HLP are going to use this in some way to push their new version of FH's universe, I really can't be. Every new piece of news just makes it sound more and more hopeless. Ah well....

Something bothered me here and now I'm certain...you're talking about video games while inhuien clearly stated "pen and paper RPG".

"Pen and Paper" isn't on the computer, so his response about Myst was a bit off.
That was my point.

I just realized I haven't actually commented on the movie.

I won't be seeing it. I'm still boycotting the HLP.

Even if I weren't, it's probably going to suck tremendous ballsack. Dune doesn't make a great movie, and if they wanted to do it right, it would be soooo long. I feel like a release style involving more than one volume at a time would be great, but I just don't see it happening like that. They'll cut relevant plotlines out, and probably add irrelevant ones, and it'll just be a pile of fail and lose.
