Perhaps it should be "the likes of which God has never seen"?

Love the Irulan of Dune post. Great work.

I'd try to do one, but simply don't have the talent at pastiche.

That's what the Muad-Dib says in Irulan of Dune after Comb-Over gobbles him off. Paul thought it was Chani as the Comb-Over had let his hair grow to over four feet long.

I'm glad you liked it, I used to be a fanfic author and some of my work approached barely acceptable mediocrity. I might dig it out and post it here, I'm most fond of The Box.

Did we ever post everything over on Hoary Tales? :?

Yes, we did. I posted The Box on there. Right, I'll have to go to that shitfest Dunenovels to copy over Trannies and the Worm stories. Ugh, I might catch retardness from Arnoloco whilst I'm over there. Or swine fever from Hyppo.

That does it! Leto of Dune?! Are they kiding me?! After taking a dump on Frank's work and saying that the scattering was a mistake ("oh we're dune's greatest fans" say the fucktards B&K) they dare to actually destroy one of my most favourite characters in the dune novels. FOR FUCK'S SAKE! THEY ARE USING THIS TO FURTHER CHANGE THE DUNIVERSE IN AN ATTEMP TO CANNONIZE THE PREQUELS AND SEQUELS! THEY ARE DROWNING FH WORK!

Don't forget the midiquels! :o

I thought we were going with interquels.

Ahem. I posted about this recently.

A midquel (although I like mediquel better, too ;) ) takes place during a gap within a previous work. As far as the official line, these books are going to be interquels, but based on some things Kevin has blogged, about shtuff they're writing about, I suspect they're actually going to be a combination of midquel and interquel.

Paul of Dune (or Pail of Dung) may not be a "Dune sandwich" after all. Maybe more like...a sandwich with a tapeworm through it? I don't know...can someone come up with a better anal-ogy?

Hahahaha, that's hilarious. Most of those aren't real terms, but it's hilarious to see the raping of existing franchises so accurately visualized in a nice chart :)

More from the Amazon UK Paul of Dune fun page:

Under "See all Product Description":
Product Description

Here at last is the missing history of Dune, its empire and its ruling family during those twelve action-packed years. It is a story of love and idealism; of ambition and intrigue; of war and reconciliation. Above all, it is the story of how Paul Atreides - a young man who achieved absolute power over a thousand planets when scarcely more than a boy - comes to renounce that empire and seek a new way forward for the people he rules.
"Action-packed years"! - bad sign.

"A thousand planets"! - was that all?

WHO WRITES THIS SHITE?

Action-packed. Right. So action-packed that Frank Herbert had no choice but to ... skip over them and set Dune Messiah at the end of Paul's reign.

Oh, and Paul "comes to renounce that empire and seek a new way forward for the people he rules"?

Wasn't this covered in Dune Messiah?

Idiots.

I know I'm being unfair, but I have no tolerance for this series. None.

"missing history". Hmmm, maybe there was a reason Frank skipped that
part. Oh wait, that's right, according to some Frank forgot to write a bunch
of stuff.

Remember now, the HLP has nothing to do with the text which is displayed by these online booksellers.

Just as they have no say in what goes on the cover of the books.

(I trust you've all notice that the excellently written blurb on the US Amazon page is the same text that appears on the Dune Novels website. Complete with the "The Muad'Dib's Jihad" grammatical infelicity. Nah...they have nothing to do with that stuff at all. )

"...when scarcely more than a boy..."
"How would you like to live billions upon billions of lives?" Paul asked. "There's a fabric of legends for you! Think of all those experiences, the wisdom they'd bring. But wisdom tempers love, doesn't it? And it puts a new shape on hate. How can you tell what's ruthless unless you've plumbed the depths of both cruelty and kindness? You should fear me, Mother. I am the Kwisatz Haderach."
Uhm. OK, Amazon, if you say so.
