Also, it doesn't take a psychology degree to understand that he's a cheap bastard.

He makes a decent, perhaps even very comfortable, living ... yet owns one jacket. And that mustard-colored atrocity has been appearing in photos for years. Plus, he's dropped enough clues over the years — bitching about prices in his various blogs and twatters — for us to know how tightly he pinches a penny.

Kevin J. Anderson is not the guy you want around when the waitress drops off the check.

or if you're that waiter/ress waiting for a tip :)

"Yes well how about an autograph from an international bestselling author?
You could sell it on ebay for a small fortune you know!"

I love that banner, too. Some first-year graphic design student in L.A. made himself a cool $50 for that effort! 8)

isn't that picture odd?

It seems the hack would be on his knees for that angle or is it just me?
Or is that bloke behind him a giant?

Conspiracy would make me say he was photoshopped there...

No, he's just a midget. He shrinks every time he writes within someone else's universe.

No, see, that shows Kevin teaching.

Kevin, the compassionate, caring, amazingly gifted international best-selling author is actually taking face-to-face with one of the wannabees. He cares, man!

Poor bastard, even his comb-over is running away in shame, it doesn't even reach all the way over any more. That jacket should be burnt on a pyre of hit shitty books.

Right, can you imagine what a writing seminar from Phuzzy might go like:

"First, what you want to do is get your dad to do about 20 years of research and write
a beloved series of books that reinvents the genre.

"Second, find a hack writer that will do anything for a buck.

"Third, exploit the shit out of it.

"Fourth, profit."

Fifth, Ditch the hack and blame all the bullshit on him.

Sixth, Apologize deeply to offended fans, do complete self-remake-over.

Seventh, Emerge from shitstorm smelling like roses.

I'm telling ya, this is what's going to happen. ;)

Look at the proportions. Either Kevin is a dwarf, the people in the chairs are larger than avg., or it was photo-shopped.

his head, his arms, so much smaller than those around him...and what in the world would he suppose to be looking up at?

Happy to see that The Jacket is still making the rounds. Gonna be time for some suede repair patches on the elbows soon.

You know, I think that's Sanderson, the "wannabe turned pro" walking success story, that he's talking to.

Look at Sanderson's jacket in the other photos. See?

So this is either during someone else's presentation or a break period, and KJA is squatting down, talking to Sanderson about whatever best-selling writers who have achieved that status from books in others' franchises talk about. ;)

I honestly think he couldn't have been there, because no one is looking at him -- and that doesn't happen to Kevin, nuh-uh! never! :naughty:

Isn't it great? There's not a single person in that picture who doesn't look like they are taking a test or wishing they were someplace else. Or both.

And that's our one "crowd shot." And still no one will go on the record with an attendance guess, even a completely unofficial guess in a Twitter post. All signs point to a low, low turnout.

yeah that was precisely my first thought!

been through a few and I know that haunted look

As for the attendance, I'll quote the Baron here:
"The absence of a thing," the Baron said, "this can be as deadly as the presence. The absence of air, eh? The absence of water? The absence of anything else we're addicted to." The Baron nodded. "You understand me, Nefud?"
or in this case mindless adulation!

If there had been a crowd there is no way he'd not have bragged about it...

(isn't there a BG quote about the absence of information being as revealing as its opposite though?)

Yes, I also thought that was one wierd picture - then I realised what it is.

It looks very much like the Jacket standing in front of a slideshow of a class.

That's what I thought as soon as I saw it. Maybe KJA is giving him a talking to about writing hack-style vs actually trying to carry on a great series and is grilling him over making KJA look bad.
