All these "bonus" parts make it sound like you're in school doing a test.
I know most and can easily check the others without a search function(sorry, I don't have DM anywhere but as PDF, and I only have the rest in Hebrew in hard-copy, so the most I can promise is to use PDFs only to check spelling or places I don't have in hard-copy).
But those aren't really riddles, it's just "go to this and this scene and search for this name/color/etc".
Riddles is what you have in The Hobbit.

In memory of Perach, who suffered and died needlessly.
I wish I could have been with you that one last time.

what do the questions not being riddles have to do with anything?orald wrote:All these "bonus" parts make it sound like you're in school doing a test.

Seens as question three has now been truly given away, the final point which none of you have yet mentioned is that they are buried upright. (I think). I didnt remember that, but Spicelon kindly filled it in for me.
Spicelon is currently the leader, by the way, with 5/9 (not including any bonus points).
Remember, no answers, no PDFs.
I'd just like to throw down the gauntlet to the usual gurus by the way - Freak, Omph, Chig, Orald, Phaedrus when he's around- how many of those can YOU get? Dont be shy :p
PM for answers

One reason I've never seriously participated in these trivia threads is I haven't read the books twenty or thirty times and so can't quote from them verbatim. And besides, I've never really seen much point in rote memorization of details, anyway; if I know where the answer is or how to find it, that's good enough for me. Sorry.
But since you ask:
beginner
1. FMIIC (Fook me if I care).
2. Got it.
3. Got it. (Edit: knew it before it was given away. Nyah! )
intermediates
4. Pretty sure I got it.
5. Was recently tooling around that part of CoD but fook me again if I can remember the old fart(a naib)'s name.
6. I remember Leto giving the translation, but again...phlllth!
"expert"
7. FMIIC.
8. Vague idea, probably wrong.
9. Got it.
Three definites, two probable/maybies, two I could find with a book pretty fast, and two whatevers.
If that loses me my "guru" status, well, again, whatever.
Suffice it to say that while I will continue to read the trivia thread(s), I probably won't be participating from now on.

heh, well thanks for participating all the same.
TBH i`m a bit like you - i have read the books a number of times (i still get the thrills even when i know whats going to happen) but I'm less bothered about remembering rote facts ("how many men..." etc) than concepts involved in the plot.
That said, If you dont want to participate, dont .

I don't use PDFs, I just flip through the books. That said, if I flipped through the books, I could get 9/9 of those, easy. From memory, I know 6 for sure. The name, the number of Siona's companions, and the word Paul would use, along with some of the bonuses, I would have to look up, but I could open the books to the exact chapters in about .3 seconds flat per question.
But yeah, this thread has kind of gone downhill. I enjoy the tough questions when they come up, but rule lawyers and such make it a lot less fun. There shouldn't be a rule against using books or PDFs, that's dumb. Just learn to phrase your questions so they can't be easily searched, or ask better questions. You shouldn't expect anyone to remember, off the top of their head, the exact length of Leto II's body or every position in the Bene Gesserit hierarchy. That's just silly.
I think it's not as fun because we have too much interference. The thread should really be questions and answers only.

You aren't thinking or really existing unless you're willing to risk even your own sanity in the judgment of your existence.
