shouldn't it be "buffeted BY a whirwind of ideas" ?
buf·fet
n.
A blow or cuff with or as if with the hand.

Fuck it just doesn't make any sense, even when I forget logic...

Or does he mean he was a buffet of ideas ? (yuk)

NB :
buffeting [ˈbʌfɪtɪŋ]
n
(Engineering / Aeronautics) response of an aircraft structure to buffet, esp an irregular oscillation of the tail
Maybe he was oscillating in response to all that buffet ?

Freak, them twisters were way the fuck over in the sinkhole what used to be
known as "Dallas" .... not really an actual part of "Texas" ... the damage was
restricted to a dozen or so identical shopping malls and about a thousand identical
houses on identical streets ... hard to tell what was actually hit ... that whole fucking
place looks ... identical ....

it's about three hundred miles from me ....

I saw one lady on CNN last night who was the only one in her neighborhood to have her house destroyed/damaged by a tornado talk about the Grace of God saving her life. It guess it wasn't strong enough to save her house too.

I can't help but laugh when I see people thanking god for sparing them from the tornado. Who made the tornado? Were the neighbors sinners who needed to be punished?

Last summer there was a lady who got fucked up by a tire that fell off a car and smashed into her. She spent some time in the hospital with some pretty serious injuries. When she was interviewed on the news guess who she thanked for keeping her alive?

Wouldn't it be harder to keep her alive than to push the tire a few inches to any other direction?

He was obviously trying to teach her some kind of lesson.

By any measure, he is one of the most popular writers currently working in the science fiction genre.
By any measure, he's a prick.
You’ve written hugely popular novels for both the Star Trek and Star Wars series.

And if by "popular," they mean, "stuff so bad we were forced to later use other writers to ret-con everything."

Or maybe "popular" means "hasn't been invited to write for either setting in 12-15 years"?
"Anything I write will be remembered and listed in bibliographies on Dune for several hundred years ..." — some delusional halfwit troll.
