They've got to have something to distract them considering that 90% of this sport is spent sitting around between plays.

Meh, no big deal. I think, however, that it would be less creepy to me if he kept his play chart inside a Playboy, or something like that. You know, if people were free to be themselves.

Among the records the Saints broke Sunday night:

• Most points in a regular season game since 1985 (New York Jets, 62)

• Tied, most regular season points since 1970 AFL/NFL

• Tied, most points in NFL since 2000 (Jackonsville Jaguars, 62, 2000 divisional playoff)

• Most points so far this season (previous: 49, Green Bay Packers Week 4)

• Most points in a game in Saints history (previous: 51, three times)

• Biggest margin of victory in Saints history (previous: 42, over Denver in 1988)

• Only eight teams have scored more points in a single NFL game and none since 1966.

• Of the 22 60-points games in NFL history, only four have taken place in the last 30 years.

• It was just the second time since 1989 that an NFL team won a game by more than 50 points. (New England 59, Tennessee 0; 2009)

• 9 -- Consecutive scores to start the game for New Orleans.

• 55 -- The number of points scored by Indianapolis the last time the Colts visited New Orleans. Peyton Manning had six touchdown passes over the Aaron Brooks and Todd Bouman-led Saints.

• 36 -- First downs gained by the Saints. The team had 32 through the first three quarters. The NFL record is 39.

• 8 -- Extra points kicked by John Kasay, who turns 42 this week, a Saints record.

I just found out the Rangers are in the World Series again ....

I guess I ought to pay more attention to the "Outside World", but fuck them ....

I think they'll win. (we have a MLB topic, albeit a poorly named one.

I fell asleep before the game started and missed it to... Dammit. How can Indy have any self respect and come back as a team , getting beat like it was a high school game?

Nice. I knew things wouldn't go well for those savages when I saw the wind blowing through that beautiful man's hair. No, I'm just kidding. Aw, man, rugby... A friend of a friend played rugby back in the day, and he didn't wear a cup- but he was huge! He tried to convince me to play, but, aw, man...

None of them wear any equipment other than maybe those ear-guards. Rugby is nuts, way way way more hardcore than football.

Most of football's injuries are due to the foolish fake grass anyways, not actually directly from impacts.

Yeah, I know it's not as hardcore as rugby but it's the best game we've (US) got, IMO.

You know you do have rugby too right?

I saw some people playing lacrosse in Colorado once, and if you have THAT then you must have rugby!

Football is ok, it's just so bloody. slow. It's the perfect low-attention-span sport, it has between 1-15 seconds of great action, then a few minutes of beer and nachos, then it repeats for long enough for even the most hardcore drinker to poison themselves!

I'm just sayin, other sports you have to watch for more than a few seconds at a time.

I think football could be made AWESOME by one simple change, when someone is tackled, you don't go take a tea and biscuts break, you pick the ball up or wrestle it away and KEEP PLAYING THE SPORT!

:D Don't take me seriously, I've just never been into it. It's fun to play though, because there's lots of rest breaks and then there's smashing people. Hmmm, smashing sports I personally think are also improved by giving people sticks....

One in every 45 National Football League players (2.2 percent) is arrested. The national arrest rate is 1 in 23 (4.2 percent), according to the FBI in 2010.

Technically, NFL players get in 47.6 percent less trouble than your average Joe.

My Falcons have won their last three, Julio Jones came back and made two 50-yard touchdown catches.

New Orleans Saints are coming to the Georgia Dome for good old fashioned NFC South beat down for sole possesion of 1st place.

Not too shabby.

It looked like the Saints were going to give it to the Falcons in the end but instead held them to a field goal forcing overtime.

Then the Falcons coach lost his fucking mind:

Yet again, the Falcons snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.
