Ironically, Cameron got the most credit for his worst film. So of course he copied it to make Avatar.

Avatar was a pitiful fuck of a movie. Its formulaic in the KJA sense. (not the Carroll sense)

Oh, yeah, how many special editions of it are out now? 3? And its not even a year old? And he didn't make it for the fame and glory and cash?

Even if Avatar is a turd, it is still more polished than anything that Keith has ever produced.

Yeah, Avatar was pulp low-SF, but not subterranian-low-SF on the level of KJA's stuff. Bashing stuff is all well and good, but if we start comparing everyone who's mediocre to KJA then we're really just complimenting KJA and lessening the impact of all our comments about him.

Comparing someone to KJA should be something we reserve for truely special people - otherwise we end up sounding like all those right-wing idiots who compare everyone to Hitler.

Now that you mention it... do we know whether KJA has even one little ball?

:P

I think it's also in the contrast....Avatar always was what it was, and it was produced by the original creator of the concept. McDune took a rare gem and vomited all over it. Repeatedly.

That's a good point, Avatar is what it is, pulp scifi (note that I almost never call SF scifi). What KJA does is make pulp in someone else's serious universe, and then call it deep and quality.

Scifi has just been tarnished for me, I try to either say SF or the whole Science Fiction. Makes it sound more serious/literary I guess.

Vitamin pills, pain killers, coffee, and a hearty breakfast will you through most morning afters that don't involve hanging on to the porcelain throne. :D

FAN CASTING LISTS AND SUGGESTIONS ARE THE LOWEST POSSIBLE FORM OF MENTAL ACTIVITY ON THE WEB.

IT'S ONLY SLIGHTLY ABOVE THE GENERAL IDLING THAT KEEPS YOUR HEART BEATING, YOUR LUNGS MOVING, AND YOU FROM DROWNING IN YOUR OWN SWALLOWED SPIT.
