Hi!

I want to let you know that we put together a short video to be included in the new CHAPTERHOUSE DUNE audiobook. The video features interviews with our narrators who have worked together in recording all of the original Dune books and their relationship with the text and working with each other. Here’s a link to the video on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XL9kkQ6H ... annel_page

Feel free to pass it along or post it to message boards. We made it with fans in mind and would love to hear what you guys think.

Thanks,

Alex

Isn't it great to hear those voice-actors talk about how much they respect the work?

What an interesting concept ...

WTF - Frank Herbert's original typewriter'd pronunciation notes. :D Why don't they make this stuff available?

I've said it before and I say it again - scan that shit in and publish it as an oversized annotated volume, even as a limited run on low-grade paper - you don't even have to include the Dune 7 "outline", and I will buy it and be happy.

Write another shitty x-thousand word trilogy and I will not. :(

I'm glad that movie never got made, it would not have had any resemblance to FH's Dune.

And we have to note that jodorowsky had never read Dune during the "brainstorm" for the project. Oh my... How can be so many stupid people in the world?

mad emperor?? That movie wouldn't had been Dune.

I guess Brian is just TOO close to Dune to appreciate it - I think it's sort of like a spoiled brat thing. He will never appreciate what he was HANDED, because it was just there for the taking.

This is why family businesses often fail after the original founder is gone...

And when he did read it he did so in ONE DAY! Can you imagine? No wonder his concept of Dune was so bizzare.

Even though it wouldn't have been "Dune," I would want to see it because it would be one hell of a mind-fuck.

It'd be like reading psuedoDune, you'd have to keep telling yourself, "This isn't really Dune, this isn't Dune." in order to get any enjoyment out of it.

Aren't we already doing that with KJA & BH's "books?" In any case, it'd probably become a cult classic with the stoner crowd.

Hi everyone. Hope you are doing great today.

To coincide with the publication of the final audiobook in Frank Herbert's original Dune series, Chapterhouse Dune (http://us.macmillan.com/chapterhousedune), Macmillan Audio (http://us.macmillan.com/Audio.aspx) has created a behind-the-scenes video about the making of the full-cast Dune audiobooks (http://us.macmillan.com/all/editorslist ... /DuneAudio).

Watch the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XL9kkQ6Hw2s

Have a happy day!

Sorry to resurrect old threads but really love the audio books must have listened to Dune and Dune Messiah over a hundred times. I also found i really appreciated the subtitles of God Emperor a lot more through just letting it wash over me.

Only got Heretics and Chapter House left.

Are they as good as the rest.

Hey, btw, how do they pronounce "Leto" in the audiobooks? Lee-toe or Lay-toe? (Someone over on FB asked about the difference in pronunciations in the Lynch movie & SciFi minis.)

Lay-toe

But who can you trust - The credits at the end of the George Guidall Dune Audiobook thanked Brian Herbert for helping with the pronunciation - even though I spotted a handful of "mispronunciations" in there. :P

Cheers! :)

(Yeah, wasn't it Brick in that YouTube video showing the pronunciation cheatsheet BH supposedly had faxed him years ago. ;) )
