Here's a drawing I found on Reddit of Muad'dib's throne room as described in Messiah:

Before I saw it I expected to object to the scaling, but...well, they took that into account.

Yesterday I found quite an oddity that I can only describe as a porn parody in flash game form of the classic DUNE game that Cryo studios made in the 90´s:

Needless to say, although the game is extremely well done it is also absolutely NSFW, of course.

Yeah, I will never think about the gom jabbar in the same way as before

Summer Ray shared on Twitter several freehand stitchings of Dune imagery by her mother:

Inspired by the forthcoming Villeneuve adaptation, a fan has designed and fashioned two different concepts for the Gom Jabbar!
This gom jabbar takes elements from many cultures and time periods. It would look equally at home in ancient Mesopotamia as it would in the far off future.

I decided to cast the gom jabbar in copper - a metal used since antiquity which, because of its unique material properties, is crucial to modern technology. It is also a beautiful metal. Highly polished it gleams like the sun. When exposed to the elements it crusts over and becomes organic and blue. When handled by people it looks almost like leather.

Gom Jabbar concept for Denis Villeneuve's DUNE
This gom jabbar builds upon the circle packing techniques I have been developing on other projects. For this piece I relaxed the circles to give "the high handed enemy" more flow while retaining a bit of the structure of the packing algorithm. I think this falls in line with the subtle ways the Bene Gesserit manipulate the bloodlines of humanity.
I felt that my first concept was too structured; too saturated with western history.

I wanted to shift focus to a gom jabbar that felt "of the time" and "out of time" to be timeless. I like the old design as a ceremonial peice - something you'd see in a Bene Gesserit museum - but this new gom jabbar feels more right (even if it is more than a simple needle on a thimble).
I chose copper for this gom jabbar because I really like working with it. It looks great polished - not gold, not silver, but bright orange - looks great with use - turning milk chocolate brown - and looks great neglected - acquiring that green patina.

They're both interesting designs but I think the first one really stands out. It has a gothic/deco look that fits the Dune aesthetic very well.

I also prefer the first design, but I really like the artist's view that it's "too saturated with western history."

That may be so, but to me the second version looks too much like a fountain pen nib. That it's something for writing and not testing the potentiality of humanity.

Just found this Reddit thread. It was hard to even tell exactly what the artist had in mind since it lacks explanation, but I thought it was pretty cool anyhow:

I've seen a few renditions of Tleilaxu Masters, google images. I haven't seen any Ixian stuff, they look normal, so not much to see.
