Ah, cool. I'm not into Robotech at all. I did watch it as a child, but I only ever enjoyed the Macross portion of the edit. Years later when exposed to Macross Plus in the late 1990s (and the rest of the original Macross franchise) I learned about the original Super Dimensions Fortress Macross series and purchased it on DVD from Animeigo. I've been a crazy Macross fan ever since :)

I'm ind the midst of preparing a final exhaustive review of the Macross Frontier series for another board. If you liked my insights on it here, you may appreciate the article. If you're interested and I can send you a copy once I'm done.

Yes GamePlayer, I'd love to read your review to Macross Frontier, please PM it.

Well, Robotech was an important part of my childhood, years later I found a bootleg/pirate VHS of The Sentinels and I was excited: "the sequel to Robotech, wow!" Take a look at the poor animation:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfdwwIZweIc&hl=es

In fact they were preparing a complete Anime tv series, but they only completed 3 or 4 episodes, that were edited into a poor movie.

But Macross is the real thing. I edited this video dedicated to Guld & Myung:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdl8nW_A ... annel_page

And a clip from Macross Plus:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6K1-iKC ... annel_page

Best Regards,
Carlos

I like spegetti westerns
I like the way the boots are all reverbed out
Walking across the hardwood floors.
In fact, everythings got
That big reverb sound.

Add The Unusuals to my list of favorite shows. It's funny, has good acting so far, and the cast seems to be a good combination.
As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Hypatia approaches one.

Okay, I'll send my final review once I'm done.

I've heard the horror stories about Robotech Sentinels, but I've never seen it. Based on the clip above, I'm glad I didn't see it! :)
I watched some clips of Shadow Chronicles about a year ago and was not impressed. But I don't follow any Robotech. They don't produce much of anything anyway, so it's never been of interest to me. I'm still rather surprised that Shadow Chronicles was even made, given there's some 20 years in between productions. Hell, Macross gets a bad rep for being slow and even they managed to produce 2 more television series, 4 movies, and 5 OVA mini-series in the 25 years since SDF Macross :)

Nice clips from Macross Plus. So, which fighter do you like better? The YF-19 or the YF-21? Always a fun question to ask the Macross fans :)

I was pleasantly surprised with Krod Mandoon. Completely over the top and campy, but the bad guy is quirky enough to almost be endearing. Still though, this could turn into a real, heavy duty stinker. My guess is most people panned the first ep, but I see promise.

I know it's not from Plus, but the VF-1 is still my favorite.

Ah, but then the fun just begins. Which VF-1 Valkyrie variant is your favorite? The "A", "D", "J" or "S"? :)

VF-1A, call me nostalgic.

Being a former armored recon specialist, I'd probably be more at home in the VEFR-1.

Ah, very nice. Yeah, it sucks that I haven't been able to find a good source for the VEFR-1 line art, otherwise it'd be in high resolution color like everything else on my site. Well, hopefully the Macross Chronicle will cover it in one of the upcoming issues.

I think the VF-1J Valkyrie is my favorite, especially the armored mode. Always loved those Itano Circus missile swarms :)

Thanks Gameplayer. About the Valkyries, I love the VF-1(x) series and my second favorite is the YF 19. I have Yamato one, fortunately!

I watched that too. It thought it was pretty damn funny, in a retarded way. (oh and we missed the BSG finale conversation!)

Ouch! I think you sucked all the excitement out of Macross Frontier with that video :) :P
I'd like to have the Blu-Ray disks of the series. Macross Frontier is the kind of show that needs high-definition.

Terminator is probably canceled :x

Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire just keeps getting better. It is incredibly silly, and the jokes are so over the top you can't help but laugh.

Surely not in public, that would be uncouth.
