OH Jihad Library

last winter when I was laid-up with the blown-out disc in my back,
I started pulling all this material from the interwebs and trying to edit
and format it, mostly for my own amusement and to satisfy my curiousity
about how these kinds of forums work.

so now I'm semi-healed and back to working alot, with little time to
mess with it, and also little inclination to do the tedious editing & formatting
to make the stuff look good & readable.

I've had some discussions with Omph, Freak & Chigger about what to do
with it, with no real decisions made.

So I'll throw it out there to y'all.

take a look and tell me what you think I should do with it.
{and if anybody wants it, it's yours ....}

Impressive...

I can see that at T(A)U, like Chigger's and Askaris' projects...

I like the layout of it. And I think I agree with Rakis about maybe include it over on T(A)U under "SandRider's project" or something along those lines since you don't have the time to opperate on your own.

Freak's too. I just promised Freak I'd proof it and fix the chapter headings, then its getting its own forum too, and going out of the archives.

It'd have to be moved by hand, post by post, but Ive got no problem hosting it there if that is what is decided. If someone wants to own it and manage it I can set that up. If not, we can post it there for posterity, and users can add to it as they like.

I joined, I'll have a look around later when I have a moment. Looks like you've kept yourself busy though from what little I glanced.

I can't wait to read something from the Fullerton notes...Oh if I had money to buy a flying ticket....

very good, Sand Rider! I will look at it more closely when I have time.

I hope you don't feel obligated or anything. I just would like a second set of eyes to check it, besides mine. It's always easier to find other people's mistakes.

Dont worry about it at all my friend. I want to do it. I keep putting it off because there are a lot of posts to go through. Maybe I should just do 3-5 per evening or something.

So I was cruising around Jacurutu and found this thread, and I visited the site belonging to the Rider of the Sands (It's nice, btw).

On his forum he has a section devoted to the infamous "Dune 7 Notes" floppy disks, complete with photographs. In them, you can see that they were labelled by hand; that is, somebody wrote "Dune 7 Notes" on them with a pen.

That being said, I have a question for you. Whose handwriting is that on the disks? Is there anyone out there good enough with handwriting analysis that can compare that script with something else that Frank wrote? Food for thought, anyway.

Proving that he did write it doesn't mean there was necessarily anything on the disks, and proving that he didn't write it could just mean that somebody else labelled them after the fact.

Still...I wants to know!

there's a thread in here somewhere with those labels,
and samples of Frank's, Brian's & Keith's autographs.

It does look like Frank's hand on the disks. Maybe.

I'll dig around in a little while & see if I can find that thread,
if somebody else doesn't do it first.

SR, I've been doin some looking around, and I think that I can copy all of that over to T(A)U. If you like, I can set it up in the public forums there, and I may even be able to give it the theme you have selected. That would eliminate the need for you to keep it up at that site you are paying for. On the down side, you would be a mod there, not an admin. Interested in doing that?

go right ahead - copypasta everything, if you want.

and I'm not paying anything for that, it's a free netforum thing or something.

if you give them 5 bucks (a year ? IDK) you don't get the ad banners at the
top, but if you have Firefox & AdBlock, you don't see the ads, anyway.

and I'd been thinking about dumping all the Keith & Brian bullshit, anyway.

those bastards have done two more rounds of interviews since I put
that board up - Frank's got like, what, FOUR total ?

and I've not really messed with it in a long time.

hoping one of these youngbloods would be interested & take it over ....

every now & then, I think I want to work on it,
but then a butterfly crosses my path and I get distracted ...
