Actually, to be more specific, it's Chinese. (Simplified character behind his head on the right side/edge of photo. Looks like it's probably the one for feng1 "wind". Like in fengshui. )

Plus that is an amateur bow, like trying to shoot an arrow with an elastic band. I wouldn't want to shoot a target with one of those, never mind at another human!
