So it looks like "Leto of Dune" may be changed to "The Golden Path of Dune." Whoop-dee-doo.

Geeze, "Winds," "Throne," and "Golden Path" are all titles that really leave themselves open for potty humour.

Bleh, the hacks couldn't write in the character of Leto II if their lives depended on it. Sandpenises of Dune failed in that respect. Worst Leto II of all time. I did not feel like I was reading about the God Emperor. Although perhaps they'll finally explain why he was able to transform into a Sandworm and back while still a baby, just so he could bite a Reverend Mother.

I will say that I'm looking forward to the cover art...

When they do the one about Leto I may actually attempt to block out even reading posts where other people talk about it. I don't know if I could handle it.

I am really looking forward to this next dune project. I think it wil be one of the best so far.

I kinda doubt it. Leto is far beyond KJA's characterization skills.

SwordMaster, has your character here even read any Frank Herbert books?

I think it might actually be sloey. Or someone else from DN we haven't seen in a while.

I don't think it's Sloey.

Speaking of which, isn't it time the little shit was let back in?

This list and, particularly, the raping of Dune which is embodied within most of the works which make up the list, just makes me sad.

I cannot imagine the level of self delusion ... or vitriolic contempt for his father ... that must be embodied within Herbert the Lesser for him to be able to write out the above list and not realize the damage he has done to Frank Herbert’s greatest work and the horrible mistake which has been the hiring of a hack to pump out a book a year with the title DUNE in size 98 font on the front.

Very little of the above list is even “Original Dune” and the rest of it fails to take into consideration whatsoever the original works or the legacy created by such works.

I could not imagine how much I would have to absolutely hate my father for me to destroy his life’s work, yet Bobo seems happy with himself. Worse, ass-clowns like Merritt seem to support Bobo in his raping of Frank Herbert’s legacy, gleefully and with much rejoicing.

Sad … very, very sad.

To make a directly on point comment: There is no golden path of Dune. There are winds of Dune and a throne of Dune (hypothetically), but the golden path is of all of mankind throughout the known universe, embodied in the scattering.

WTF is wrong with these idiots? Both the idiots writing the "books" and the idiots gleefully supporting them.

Great. Now my blood pressure's dangerously high again.

If this is attempted parody - not funny.

If this is some idiot from the hack's "special" group being serious - seek help.

That is all.

Not sure why Byron would make that list?

Golden Path of Dune as a title just highlights the twits complete lack of understanding
of DUNE. Some fun with titles:

TWITS OF DUNE?
Golden Shower of Dune?
Adventures of the Young Worm Leto of Dune?
The first quarter lives of Duncan of Dune?
We shouldnt write this book OF Dune?
Jacket and Asshat of Dune?
Asshat and Jacket of DUNE?
The first days of the Last days of the Worm on Krypton of Dune?
SlanHunter of Dune??
Futar Follies of Dune?
LETO TWO (whos is actually Leto 3, era.. Maybe???) of Dune

Surviver: DUNE?

If it was sloey, he wouldn't have to fake all the typos.

And I second letting him back in.

Not really something that's up for a vote, is it?

Oh, aren't we all! :P
I think it wil be one of the best so far.
Again, I seriously question the applicability of the verb "think" to what occurs between your ears, but no matter... the book would only have to be just A LITTLE GOOD to qualify as BEST.

You know, kind of a "the highest turd stinks out most" kinda thing. :D

I heard that they're planning Great Cthulhu of Dune...to take place between CoD and GEoD.

No, you're misunderstanding. It's a universe crossover, codenamed for now, Leto v. Cthulu. You guys don't get to see the cool stuff I get to see. It's an awesome story -- Leto senses that his Golden Path will be disturbed by an ancient evil, and he seeks to destroy it before it puts its tentacles into humanity's future once again. However, his plans are foiled when it appears that an old no-verse has formed around the parallel of Dune. A cross of realities calls for a panic, and Leto must face it alone.

The scary thing ("scary" seems appropriate for Cthulhu): if TOR called right now and offered TheKJA a contract to write a Leto-vs.-Cthulhu book, his reaction would not be "that's stupid and insulting." It would be "that sounds so cool! I'll have it for you in two weeks!"

Scarier still: I'm not exaggerating; I think he'd actually do it, being the shameless franchise whore that he is.

We know you're kidding, Dukester is just saying that despite our jokes about this sort of thing (demonstrating we consider it ridiculous) the new authors are likely to instead believe it to be a good step for, how do we say it, pew! pew! pew! reasons.

Cute. Not funny, but cute...

BTW, you've to say at Kevin that Leto II is not Jabba the Hut

p.s : :FH small: --> do you know this guy and what he did ?

Hey my friend, you forgot the most important :

Godfather of Dune (When a son is rebuilding his Empire by destroying his father's) between CoD and GEoD.
(Of course, there is no link with real events. Of course... :liar: )

I heard that it'll be revealed that those Maudru-priests really date back to an Old Terra cult intend on resurrecting the Great Old Ones...

Strictly speaking, should you call it a "no-globe"?

After all, it will be different technology.
