I've been here what? A Year now and I've finally gotten myself an avatar.

Took it from one of the better pictres of Leto II from God Emperor of Dune, full sized image below.

Outstanding! I suppose that is Hwi Noree. (Should have been glowglobes instead of hanging lamps.)

True but the smoke coming from them suggests incense burners perhaps melange?

I thought of that but I think I recall glowglobes being mentioned in GEoD.

well, it could be Nayla reporting to 'God'... although from a physical aspect one would have drawn someone more 'muscular'...

the Guild Navigator from the same artist is also scary

RM Anteac secreting the spice essence? Leto seems to be sniffing, although I'm sure he wouldn't betray that physically.

Then again, it may not have to be female. Could be Moneo.

It's definitely not Nayla.

Can anyone tell me when Leto's human features stopped maturing, just got a flash of a wee nine year old gazing from out of the Worms cowl.

That's a notion I've entertained. It would make sense, considering he began his metamorphosis at nine. However, since no one in GEoD ever seemed confused or fascinated by his extremely youthful appearance then I assume he probably had the face of an adult Atreides. People notice his arms, but no one says they look like the arms of a child.

I'd love to see James McAvoy reprise the role of Leto II for Syfy's next miniseries. The producers of the new film (same as those who did the miniseries) have said that they're going to release some kind of new TV event to tie in and help promote the new film. I assume they'll make a God Emporer series (what else would it be?). Just the thought of it gives me a rather large chubby.

There was a scene were Duncan noticed the glowstrips, thinking how there weren't feasible is his own time and how the glowstrips were a sign that whatever Leto wanted, he got.

I think that was in the tunnel below Onn, wasn't it?

IDAHO FOUND Moneo at last in the long underground corridor which connected the Citadel's eastern and western complexes. ...

The corridor's plastone walls were amber here fifty meters below the surface and lighted by glowstrips keyed to the daylight hours. ...

He knew what this corridor was supposed to represent. It did have some characteristics of an ancient Fremen sietch. The corridor was wide, big enough to take Leto on his cart. The arched ceiling looked like rock. But the twin glowstrips were discord. Idaho had never seen glowstrips before coming to the Citadel; they had been considered impractical in his day, requiring too much energy, too costly to maintain. Glowglobes were simpler and easily replaced. He had come to realize, however, that Leto considered few things impractical.

What Leto wants, someone provides.

There is that mention of glowstrips, however it seems to me that there was a shitload of glowglobes throughout the rest of the book. Leto used them to control the lighting when first revealing himself to the new Duncan, and Moneo used them to signal things to Leto while he was in his crypt.

Also, early in the book Duncan is waiting in a small room for the Fish Speaker escorts to take him to Leto for the first time. The room is described as featureless, no glowglobes, but with soft lighting. Sourceless light? An Ixian innovation?

(Glowglobes mentioned 19 times in GEoD, second only to Dune itself with 20; leads Heretics by 2. Then it's down to 11 in CoD and only 8 each in Messiah & CHD. :) )
