I just heard of this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spice_%28drug%29
It's cannabis-based, unfortunately. Should have been the name of an LSD- or shroom-variant...

I don't understand the concept of making a synthetic drug to immitate one that can be easily grown on a plant.

Nah... Except it makes it easier to sell it semi-legally. As far as I can tell, some of the popularity is the easy with which they sell it on the net, as a sort of incense or something...

I'm planning on my Chai Hulud Spice beer/mead to have a heafty dose of mushrooms in it. I figure the combination of alcohol, caffeine and halucinogen should be about as close to the spice as we can get here on earth.

I'm kind of scared of it... and I haven't even brewed it yet!
Not sure how many grams per volume I'm going to use yet. I was initially thinking about 1 gram per 750ml wine bottle to keep it on the lighter side, but I may double that just to make sure it gets you good and messed up.

I look forward to reading about your results. Just don't go starting rainstorms on us, OK?

Thing is they never said what the "secret ingredient" was.
the synthetic additives mimicked the effects of THC, the psychoactive substance that gives cannabis its high.
Spice, which is imported from China and sells for £25 for 3 grammes, has been marketed since 2006 and that it contained unidentified herbal matter that the makers claimed was innocuous.
Jeez what did you expect from stuff made in
China of all places?

I've read about it, never got my hands on it before it was banned for shipment in the US by a bunch of sites. That was back in the day in high school when I tried salvia divinorum and stuff in high school. Don't quote me but I read its got one of the strongest mix of skullcap in it.
