The movie group with the nice picture of dickhead Peter Berg? I thought I'd left that one. Oh well, tomorrow! :P

You mean, like to a news release or something? No, I was just guestimating. ;)

It's already April '10 and there's still been no word of a finalized/approved NEW script, right? NO casting news. NO nuttin'. I don't know, could they get it into theatres by Xmas '11? Summer '12 seems a safer bet, no?

Timing seems a bit off, though, if they want the movie release to boost shitbook sales. The Xmas '11 season would come after the scheduled release of Thunder Throne ... unless they delay the book? (I'm sure they'd hype up the movie to flog more piles of the book, either way.) And Summer '12 will be before the second SMELLHOLE volume, which will have about as much to do with Dune as any of their McDune shit.

 What am I thinking?! Of course every possible aspect is going to be fucked up: we're talking about the HLP! AKA "KJA 'R' Us".

2011 ... maybe.

As Chig says — and as we've pointed out in the "new Dune movie" thread — they've got nothing right now. Not an inch of film has been shot. They've gone back to square one at least twice so far.

It's a Chinese fire drill right now ... mostly, I'd guess, because their two executive producers are idiots.

are they real executive producers or did they give them a cowboy hat and a plastic gun and asked them to go play in the backyard?

I mean whoever the director will be there is no way he would let ego man and dumbfuck mess with his screenplay!

i hope...

I'm coming around to GamePlayer's viewpoint: their "co-producer" titles are pretty much just that; something for their resumes.

If KJA was having anything at all to do with the actual process, wouldn't we be hearing about it?

Berg's been toast from the project for a long time now, he decided his time was better spent making the movie version of Battleship (no joking).

I think it was Mahdi (or Andrew?) from FED2k that pointed out he agreed to do Battleshit in return for the studio backing some pet project of his own. Tat for tit, or something. ;)
