Patrick Stewart is Now a Knight.
Actor Patrick Stewart Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II
(AP) Patrick Stewart has been upgraded from captain to knight. The actor famous for playing Capt.Jean-Luc Picard on "Star Trek: The Next Generation" officially became Sir Patrick Stewart when he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.
While "Star Trek" introduced him to a different group of fans, Stewart is also a widely respected stage actor. The 69-year-old actor discovered the theater as a child, and said "my heroes were Sir Laurence Olivier, Sir John Gielgud, Sir Alec Guinness."Being in that company is the grandest thing that has professionally happened to me."
Stewart joined Britain's storied Royal Shakespeare Company in his 20s, and in 2008 was nominated for a Tony award for the leading role in "Macbeth."

I love that guy, but I doubt he's being recognized for his skills on the baliset, or for fighting the Sardaukar while holding a small dog. But if any actor should be a knight...

EDIT 2:
Without irony, I do really like Patrick Stewart.

...not to mention his ability to produce a quote for any given occasion.

Good for him, but William Shatner would have been a better Gurney. And knight.

That's from the first season of "Extras" the show Ricky Gervais did on HBO after The Office.Superdog wrote: That video is awesome, what is it from?

This is fantastic. I love how Stewart's deadpan delivery just cracks Gervais (the comedian) up.

I'm still very proud of The Quarry but … let's face it; in the end the real best way to sign off would have been with a great big rollicking Culture novel.

Yeah, that's part of Ricky Gervais' whole thing. And it's the nature of blooper reels. Not to everyone's taste. I like it, though.Omphalos wrote:That laughter actually looks a bit forced to me.

— James Corden and Sir Patrick Stewart had an awkward onstage spat at the Glamour Awards.

Seemed like a poor showing on both of their parts. Thought it was staged at first but the other jabs at each other was just poor showmanship in my humble opinion.

Yeah, they've both been hammered in the UK press for that.
I'm disappointed in Stewart; it came just days after he became a knight. I'll call him "Sir Patrick" when he grows up a little bit.

of the few extras episodes I've watch, his and Kate Winslet (with her dirty pillows) were the funniest.

That is an extremely awkward awards show clip, to say the least.
