Marilyn Martin, recording artist (Possessive Love)? Or Marilyn Martin, the crazy old Amazon.com conspiracy bitch?
For now I'm only going to commit to the recording artist, I'd have to see what the other looked like.

I'm up for both, or just the Amazon one, I don't really care.

Major madwoman meltdown on Amazon this evening.

A few years ago the university commissioned three or four local artists to create a new logo/seal and put the results to a vote by the faculty, students & office staff. The one that was chosen, hands down, was a stylized letter I:

Image

When we were doing the website for our Integrated English Program (IEP), we thought it would be cool to create a site logo incorporating the university logo... and so I did. It wasn't up on the site but a few days before the bitch who headed the General Education office at the time called up and told us we had to take it down IMMEDIATELY because of restrictions placed on the logo's usage by the university's contract with the artist who created it: it couldn't be altered or incorporated into any other design without his permission. And payment of additional fees. It was just one more bullshit bureaucratic objection to what we were trying to do so I got pissed and removed the logo from my off-campus sites and placed this notice on the front page one of them (the same old, un-updated site on my iDisk that Hardwoody stumbled upon back in April/May):

"University Logo removed in protest of irresponsibility surrounding its commission and restrictions on its usage."

That's not particularly ambiguous or hard to understand, is it? And the situation is briefly explained on another page linked to from the front page.

Well, Marilyn found the site last week and she's been going on about various bits of it ever since. In the Aliens and Psychology forums this morning, she posted these comments/replies:
[snipped] ... And I’ll be happy to be a “published author” anyday, to being a teacher in a foreign country where your university employer has removed their school seal from your work-website “in protest”. (Care to tell us what you did to so infuriate your school that they had to remove their seal from your website?) LOL!
Ah, the wonderful world of “cyber-bullying”. (I wonder if Japan thinks RC has overstayed his welcome, after supposedly arriving on a Monbusho Scholarship. His employer, after all, has removed their seal from his work-website, “in protest”. Care to explain, RC, what you did to invoke the wrath of your current employer?)
I calmly took her by the hand and gently beat her over her increasingly senile head with the truth of the matter.

Did she accept that she had made a mistake in a mature and rational manner? What do you think?! Three comments from the Psycho forum:
“I fail to see of what relevance things I posted on a website SIX years ago ...”

Ah, the old Emperor Who Has No Clothes ruse. You create this bizarre “persona” (which, by the way, no one else falls for) of alternately portraying a vicious attack-troll, then the oh-so-bemused victim. (Have you ever been tested for schizophrenia?)

This is obviously news to you, but normal people don’t act like this. All this spiteful venom directed at anyone who calls your bluff — or even casual forum visitors who run into your buzz-saw of hateful ridicule, and never come back.

You’ve obviously got buds at Amazon protecting you, otherwise you would have been banished years ago. So what, did they hire you as their attack-poster to try and run off the more intelligent and sensitive posters, who might have something interesting and relevant to offer? Well, I'm not going anywhere. I can smell evil a mile away anymore, and anti-intellectual cyber-parasites like you are no longer going to bully me.

So play your bizarre games, and enjoy all the vile torment you inflict. Like I said, normal people don’t act like this. And I hope and pray “normal people” will someday wake up, and take this planet back from the abnormal, predatory parasites like you rotting the very foundations of every society and culture.
Ah, another classic predator-parasite post. The “protected attack-troll” manages to spew his venom at posters and OP alike.

Courage comes in many forms. We applaud our brave soldiers fighting overseas. And yet too many turn a blind-eye to cyber-parasites and attack-trolls like this, whose only function is to run off or mercilessly ridicule anyone thoughtful and interesting, or ready to engage such in forums like this.

Hitler had Goebbels to twist, manipulate and propagandize public thought. We have ... attack-trolls and cyber-parasites.
“I’m enjoying it immensely.”

I’m sure you are, RC. Attack-trolls (or cyber-parasites) never do any real work to add anything relevant to any disucssion. You’re no better than theater or restaurant critics, sniffing over others’ hard work and writing scathing “reviews” based on gossip they’ve heard, and their mood that day.

So I no longer have any respect or use for critics who write reviews. So in your vicious vapidity, RC, you have taught me a valuable Life Lesson.
Did I hit a nerve or two, you think?

I must be a better teacher than I thought.

Edit: reading back over her rants last night before going to bed, I decided this is my favorite line: "I can smell evil a mile away anymore, and anti-intellectual cyber-parasites like you are no longer going to bully me." Especially the first clause, it's definitely sig-worthy.

I'm curious, too, about how she figures she's the intellectual. :?

This stuff is gold. We should compile a page of Quintessential Preeqisms

Not only will we have a place to put the best of the best, but we can also be certain that none of them will ever look at it because they won't know what the words mean.

Yes... I am quite bad... rottening, I am! In fact...

"I can smell my own evil from a mile away anymore!"

(For you to find that as funny as I do, you would have had to have grown up with a Kentuckian grandfather who took every opportunity he could to remind you, "Boy, a fox always smells his own hole first." )

But the Chigger still beguiling all my sad soul into smiling,
Straight I wheeled a cushioned seat in front of bug and bust and door;
Then, upon the velvet sinking, I betook myself to linking
Fancy unto fancy, thinking what this ominous bug of yore -
What this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt, and ominous bug of yore
Meant in croaking `Anymore.'

This I sat engaged in guessing, but no syllable expressing
To the arachnid whose fiery eyes now burned into my bosom's core;
This and more I sat divining, with my head at ease reclining
On the cushion's velvet lining that the lamp-light gloated o'er,
But whose velvet violet lining with the lamp-light gloating o'er,
She shall press, ah, anymore!

vi·cious
   /ˈvɪʃəs/ Show Spelled[vish-uhs]
–adjective
1.
addicted to or characterized by vice; grossly immoral; depraved; profligate: a vicious life.
2.
given or readily disposed to evil: a vicious criminal.
3.
reprehensible; blameworthy; wrong: a vicious deception.
4.
spiteful; malicious: vicious gossip; a vicious attack.
5.
unpleasantly severe: a vicious headache.
6.
characterized or marred by faults or defects; faulty; unsound: vicious reasoning.
7.
savage; ferocious: They all feared his vicious temper.
So basically something that has character, albeit a bad one, but certainly one worthy of note.
vap·id
   /ˈvæpɪd/ Show Spelled[vap-id]
–adjective
1.
lacking or having lost life, sharpness, or flavor; insipid; flat: vapid tea.
2.
without liveliness or spirit; dull or tedious: a vapid party; vapid conversation.
Ok so this means bland, neither good nor bad, a tailored word to describe something absolutely average.

So "vicious vapidity" is either a work of poetic art or the expression of a mind that struggles with the most basic concepts and meanings:

Your guess... is as viciously vapid as mine!
