Um, no. To me that just seemed randomly hilarious. Did I stumble into a private joke?

Paul of Dune was so bad it gave me a seizure that dislocated both of my shoulders and prolapsed my anus.

This doesn't change the fact that I peed myself.

I was hoping it would add to the experience.ahnnah wrote:Freakzilla wrote:The pug dogs were a compromise by David Lynch. Which could slurp it up quicker, an aardvark or an anteater?
Oh.
There's some images that are going to stay with me for a while.

It wasn't a puddle, no need for slurping.... but probably an anteater. They seem to be a bit more manic.

Re: Yueh and Jessica
I would pay cash money to see the scene where Jessica confronts Thufir (after Idaho's slip-up) committed to film. Seeing those two stalk each other would be a treat indeed.ahnnah wrote:I'm curious to know if anyone has any thoughts on the fact that Lynch's movie put such emphasis on the mystery of Yueh's treachery while dear old Frank delved more deeply into the scenario of Jessica being set up as a patsy?? Was it just a diffence in pop culture between generations, better cinema, easier scripting, etc. Personally I think it was because of the difficulties of portraying such subtleties on film as those that existed in the relationship between Leto and Jessica. To me it seems a very important point to the setup of the whole series but as much as I love the film, it seriously is just eye candy for the fans of the books.
Your post brings up a thought I had the other day while re-reading Dune: that early scene between Yueh and Jessica was really a marvel. It's the first scene where we have one character actively trying to manipulate another character (and succeeding!). And it shows us a rare failure for Jessica, proving that, while she has great abilities, she's not infallible.
