Yeah, all medical professionals date pregnancy as beginning at the woman's last menstrual cycle, which is generally two weeks beforehand. It's just the most accurate way for them to do things.

Now, does it make sense for lawmakers to use that as the basis for abortion laws? Of course not.

What would prompt a woman to get an abortion after the 20th week? Deformity is probably the most common.

Almost nothing as it hardly ever happens anyway. It's another of those laws for no reason just to shove it on people.

Who the Fuck cares? It's between a woman and her doctor....or it should be. Lots of reasons.

The 20th week of conception is pretty hard core support of abortion rights.

Hard core? I support a woman to do with her body as she sees fit. It's pretty Fucking hard core to tell people what to do with their body. You want to tell a mother of three that is going to die in 2 days because the fetus is killing her that she can't get an abortion? You going to tell a child that she has to give birth to her father's child because she was too afraid to come forward till after 20 weeks.....same with rape victims? I say butt the Fuck out. But fascists will never be convinced.....

Well, this is probably my last post...Cause I know where it inevitably leads..being banned. As I already have been banned from 5 science fiction oriented Forums over the last 10 years. I suppose there is no room for God-oriented morals in most types of science fiction. But as I am who I am, I must post...

So, why don't we instead call it...

"We don't want our Girlfriends, Wives and Daughters to Become 'Cum Dumps' Bill."

God-oriented morals? Are you kidding me? Now you speak for God too and know what he thinks? I know many more atheists that are closer to MY interpretation of "god-oriented morals". I choose human morals, and life is pretty messy and complex. No need to force our women into slavery and back alley, unclean, and unlicensed abortion clinics.

I don't know why you would be banned for speaking your mind, but that's up to Freak and Omph. I have nothing against you saying what you want in a political forum.

Hopefully this politics subforum was designed robustly enough to contain strong opinions. :P

My thinking is that on any issues of medical science, the deciding policymaking factor has to be.. medical science.

This is what the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists says: The abortion time limit and why it should remain at 24 weeks

Any limit here is by it's nature artificial - there is a debate, and as the science changes and improves it could change. But the people who want to see it reduced regardless of facts, statistics or mitigating factors (rape, incest, risk) won't give up until it is banned completely - and that's not a good place. You shouldn't criminalise doctors for saving lives.
So, why don't we instead call it...

"We don't want our Girlfriends, Wives and Daughters to Become 'Cum Dumps' Bill."
I think you can answer that one yourself...

hey, why don't "we" let our Girlfriends, Wives and Daughters decide for
themselves what they want to do ... if they want to be cumdumpsters
or baby-factories, Gawd Bless'em ....

I know. Why don't we let the women sell the body parts to the gay porn star cannibals that are eating their 'lovers'.

You know I'm just having fun with ya'.

Had a long night at the homeless/crisis shelter, where I volunteer 30 hours a week. Pat, pat, pat myself on the back.

I think this fits here better than "rewarding" it with a new topic.

and I have to say this one of the craziest things I have ever heard.

What year is this? What ignorance? So, how do we explain that people like this are our representatives?
