and now my news tells me its happened again
fuck this hurts

turns out this happens more than youd think
a friend of mine lived through it
there is a picture of him
laying on top of a pile of bodies at the door
i went and read several descriptions of the incident survivors had written
shouldnt have done that

It doesn't happen more than I think. I design fire alarm systems. I try to stay on top of events like this. I had forgotten the name of the club, though. Sorry for your loss.
For a while I thought you were talking about the night club fire in Brazil that killed 230 people yesterday.

the fire in brazil brought up the memory
my friend survived. i got to hear a story about his participation in the melee
horrifying
it would actually be easier for me to deal with this for him to have perished
rather than having to have heard that recount

Hey Distrans, it's possible I live near you! I currently live in Southeast Massachusetts, which is very close to Rhode Island, where the fire occurred (although I was living in NYC when it happened, I think)...Seekonk, Mass. ring a bell? I thought everyone here was from the South or California!
