Movies Which "Touched You" and/or Inspired You
Touched deeply by Film? Positively or Negatively ?
Has a movie ever made you cry? Do you remember it? Would you admit to it? Why not? Are we not men? or are we Devo?
Real men do cry!
And, which movie inspired you the most?
Also, Ladies we welcome your comments!

I saw Star Wars when I was about six years old, it had a very strong impression on me.fantomas wrote:For Real?Freakzilla wrote:I grew up wanting to be Luke Skywalker.
He was very Inspiring for sure!
Paul of Dune was so bad it gave me a seizure that dislocated both of my shoulders and prolapsed my anus.

I remember being very inspired by Star Wars as well. I found numerous elements of the film trilogy quite impressive. I was attracted to the character arc of Luke Skywalker, growing from a boy into a very powerful and skilled man. I was also endlessly enthralled with the notion of owning a spaceship and traveling the galaxy like Han Solo. Even to this day I'll catch myself daydreaming about spaceflight and the freedom of roaming the stars.
I found Fight Club a very potent experience. Not exactly inspiring in as much as it was extremely, mind-blowing and piercingly relevant. It was like finding myself under examination. All my habits and fears became exposed through this film, especially it's criticism of my consumer lifestyle. To this day I still have a nearly irresistible urge to take up boxing.
Never cried from a film, song or piece of art. A pity I suppose, since I am an art lover, particularly for film. Needless to say, I'd be a poor benchmark for emotional evocation in a film. I'm an emotionally detached and apathetic person; probably why I'm still single
Having said that, I do become melancholy from films you would not expect. You could show me a hundred tear-jerker movies and I wouldn't bat an eye. But I do get affected by something like Robocop. Embarrassing to say, but it's true. The hardships of the poor modern-day frankenstein in the third act pulls a few of the under-developed heart strings Other films like Terminator 2, Aliens and Die Hard all feature characters that do evoke quite a bit of empathy when I watch them in their plights.
Unbreakable is not so much saddening as it is simply sadly beautiful. As a long time comic book fan, this movie was tailor made for fans like me; a tribute to the iconic ideal of a super hero.
Once Upon a Time in The West is an odd sort of film that saddens me in the way fondness for a passing era does. The film evokes such strong emotion and love for a long lost way of life you can't help but feel emptiness at its passing.

Trainspotting helped steer me away from hard drugs. I saw that movie and was like "none for me, thanks!".
Also Star Wars (is that sad?), I used to like drawing pictures from the movies as a little boy, constantly lol. Return of the Jedi was the first movie I ever saw in theatres, AND IT WAS BADASS!!! My old man says I didn't stop drawing lightsaber fights and space battles for a month.

Ach, I don't mind admitting it: I'm a bleeding waterworks fountain...and seem to sprout more leaks the older I get. So there.
Durrr, I hate this crap.

I cried in Bambie when the hunters didn't catch Bambie and roast him for dinner.
And I mean my gay ex(bet you're sorry now, Chig).
Well, you could count on one hand the times I went to cinema(and still be short a finger I think), but my ex and I used to watch BSG together. Does that count?SandChigger wrote:A more interesting topic would have been

In memory of Perach, who suffered and died needlessly.
I wish I could have been with you that one last time.
