I could only get part way through that before replying...
I was asked to be an admin at Arrakeen, that is true, but I wasn't complaining about it.
What I had a problem with was lack of instruction.
Before I accepted the job, I told them I had never been an admin before and I would need a little guidance.
Whenever I asked Hypatia what she wanted me to do, she'd just tell me to read the manual.
I didn't have time for that, I have a life. I've got a wife and four kids, I don't have time for that shit. If there were certain things that needed to be done, tell me what they were and how often. She couldn't/wouldn't do that, and called me a baby.
That's when I lost it and told her to shove the admin job and left.

Well, there's this REALLY shitty forum run by the HLP...Spicelon wrote:I would like to meet this Hypatia, as I have never met her. Where would the best place be to run across her? The road?
You aren't thinking or really existing unless you're willing to risk even your own sanity in the judgment of your existence.

I thought I should add my 2 yen for the record about the fall of Keen.
I started a thread on Keen mocking the new rules on dumbnovels. The text started out in English then slowly turned into German. She locked the thread and demanded that I make a public apology before unlocking the thread.
I refused and challenged her via pm to explain why the sudden 180 change in policy since the thread was fairly mild compared to other past posts and threads. At the very least, the post was in the spirit of Keen at the time.
Publicly she said it had to do with the reference to Nazis, but she admitted in her reply via pm she was shifting policy because Byron had joined and was trying to make an impression on him (however, she also did apologize to me and stated she was going to try to fix the situation).

Wull, I guess she fixed it!
I liked the bullshit in the PM to Worm about 'Keen being a forum she loved, but doesn't own, is just managing.
Loved it so much she's kept it closed for over half a year.
Doesn't own but acts like she does.
Is just managing to death.
(Freak, did you ever hear anything on the 'Keen situation from Edric?)

I have to say Worm, you deserve a big THANK YOU!
It's one thing to suspect, to know with even 99% certainty, that a person like Hypatia is lonely, paranoid and tragically unhinged. But it is euphoric to have all my suspicions of that psycho confirmed and that last 1% of reasonable doubt forever dismissed just by reading your PM exchange.

Now there's something we all have in common with Hypatia. We have also been trying to make an impression on Byron here. That explains so much of her ass kissing attitude on DNBBS..."...Publicly she said it had to do with the reference to Nazis, but she admitted in her reply via pm she was shifting policy because Byron had joined and was trying to make an impression on him (however, she also did apologize to me and stated she was going to try to fix the situation).
But what was she expecting from Byron, really? That he would praise her for her yet to be made Fanfic? A moderator's job at DNBBS? A life?
I feel so sorry for Worm...

What's with Baron of the Mice or what's his name? Isn't he the actual owner of 'Keen? Who's paying for it to be up(unless it's free, but I thought it wasn't)?
And yea, does Edric has anything interesting to say about the situation? Like, IDK, how it might've been his plan all along, and why he chose Hyp in the first place?

In memory of Perach, who suffered and died needlessly.
I wish I could have been with you that one last time.

Worm is strong. Worm and his board survive.
Hypatia on the other hand is a festering puddle of lard and goo....

Thanks.. not that I haven't made my share of mistakes- lots of them. And then apologize when I'm in the wrong. But I always ask the staff for their opinions and ideas on most everything, and I even follow some of it.SandChigger wrote:Why?

I don't have time to play god at Haven, I have a good staff that I trust, and I think they trust me to not go off the deep end and act in a manner that repels members. I think that is the main difference between 'keen and Haven.
And Rakis, don't feel sorry for me, it just goes with the territory of being an admin/board owner. If you can't handle it, maybe you shouldn't be doing it eh? My main concern was protecting the members from being exposed to the bullshit. Controversy is a death sentence for a board.
As witnessed....
