Lisan Al-Gaib
Hello, I'm a Brazilian fan of Dune. I'm 21 years-old and I'm graduating in astrophysics in the University of Rio de Janeiro. I'm 'carioca', and I have been living in Rio all my life.
I knew Dune 3 years ago from a Phd friend, he told me about the story and plot of the book during a 6-hour travel to the National Astrophysic Laboratory (LNA), a telescope in the Southwest of Brazil, were the Brazilian astrophysics normally observe some celestial bodies for studies.
After that talk, when we arrived in the LNA, I started searching in the internet everything about Dune. And some days after, in Rio, I began to search for the first book in the old-books stores in the Downtown. I made my girlfriend walk a lot!
I found it, bought it and devoured it and became a huge fan of this magnificent universe wrote by 'Uncle Frank'! Obviously, in the next, I bought the other 5 canons and devoured it too.
Here in Brazil, we don't have the B&K books translated, and because that, is normal for all the fans start reading the old canon, what, of course, is fantastic =P
I hope to help very much here! And long live to the Orthodox Herbertians!
ps: If someone already remember of me, I make part of the Dune Novels forum too.

Welcome!
“But what is the good of friendship if one cannot say exactly what one means? Anybody can say charming things and try to please and to flatter, but a true friend always says unpleasant things, and does not mind giving pain. Indeed, if he is a really true friend he prefers it, for he knows that then he is doing good.” -Oscar Wilde

Thanks everybody!
Well, in the present I'm working with Asteroids belt between Mars and Jupiter, and waiting to finish the graduation in about one and half years.
I would really like to help in the questions of astronomy...(There are some wrong astronomical information in the Dune Encyclopedia and the B&K books that I would like discuss about in the future...)
ps: Orald, in Portuguese we say "Olá" instead of Hola, hehehe. But, nice tray!
