And here is where we, Frank Herbert readers, must intervene, talk, explain to family and friends that they must read one of the monuments of Science Fiction that is Dune and its 5 sequel novels, explain them that unfortunately there is a HLP estate that has authorized new novels of a questionable quality and non consistent with Frank Herbet's work.Serkanner wrote:There are a few flaws with the reasoning regarding new Dune readers also reading the originals.
I wonder how many potential Dune fans are scared away after reading just one of the atrocities? Would you start reading the original after having read, lets say, Butlerian Jihad? Wouldn't you be revolted by it so much that you would never ever touch a book with Dune printed on it again?...
that guy's obviously a jackass. He can't remember Phillip K Dicks best work, pretty much calls the Midwich Cuckoos quaint (my bloody is boiling at this point), misses the entire plot of Dune, and, to top it all off, slags off what is renowned as one of the best sci-fi's since Dune, Neuromancer. any have his address? my knife and bare hands want a word with him....SandChigger wrote:Is he really a kid, and not 42?Nekhrun wrote:I hate that kid.
