The Terrorists are winning.....
"Federal agents may take a traveler's laptop computer or other electronic device to an off-site location for an unspecified period of time without any suspicion of wrongdoing, as part of border search policies the Department of Homeland Security recently disclosed."

What is not mentined is that, with the way the did the grammar in their own declaration, they consider the entire US to be their territory. Also, the Border Patrol has checkpoints inside the US, they are all within the 100 miles of the border, I go through one four days a week during school and i can tel lyou they are a bunch of arrogant assholes, I've actively gone out of my way to conceal my electronics and to provide education related stuff in my vehicle as cover just because the agents go beyond their legal mandate, which is they can only ask if you are US citizen, which legally you have to answer ,any other wuestions they ask you, you may refuse AND refusal is not grounds to have your vehicle searched. Unfortunately the assholes make up all kinds of excuses.

Ahh, I haven't played that in a month I think.
I can't wait for them to confiscate my grocery list.

Not to mention the constant fear mongering and the growth of the police state all around.SandChigger wrote:Ah, the Bush Legacy....

Considering the agents couldn't even recognize the hard drive in a Macbook Air and the rise in reports of what amounts ot theft on the part of the agents when it comes ot fancy high end gadgets, I would be leery of bringing my laptop period.SandChigger wrote:So I guess I should remove all trace of my website files along with any that contain "Herbertarian Jihad" from my travellin' laptop before I come home next time, huh?

Well...It's not like you can call a 1-866 number all night long to vote for the PM, right? You do still only get one vote?GamePlayer wrote:I remember a year or two back a front page article hit the globe and mail comparing the number of voters for Canadian Idol and the number of voters in our last federal election. The numbers were anything but encouraging

The article was based on per voter, NOT per phone call. There were something like 37 million votes in the last Canadian Idol, more votes than there are people in Canada (which is sitting at somewhere around 33 million right now). That article compared eligible voters against participating viewers in CI. I'd have to look online for the numbers, but they were sad. There were almost as many people voting in CI than the election.

You should use SMS for the next election up there. Diddy can come up there and do a "Text or Die" campaign.GamePlayer wrote:The article was based on per voter, NOT per phone call.
