I can't see the picture, and when I right click and choose "view image" from the drop down menu, I get a 404 error.

Who is Frank Hernert? :P

Wasn't the painting hanging in Mother Superior Taraza's room, in HoD?

... and then stolen by Sheeana for her room in the no-ship.

Was the theft of the painting by Sheeana in the originals, or was it only included in the sequels?

Cool.

I couldn't recall if it has been mentioned earlier than Hunters. Thanks, as always.

So what is that painting valued at? My guess is more than I'll make in my lifetime!

I'd like to own it one day.

That large image I posted, allows me to see the painting in detail and to feel what Odrade talked about: an instant in the life of the artist, captured like a snapshot, for eternity.

What would be really cool was if Dune fans bought the painting and donated it to the Bene Gesserit or any future organisation working to improve and preserve mankind :-)

Maybe the Software Freedom Law Center: http://www.softwarefreedom.org?

Technically, that was written by KJA and not considered canon here.

I refuse to believe Odrade's hold on humanity was painted by a robot.

Heresy!

I don't accept Erassmus as canon. The picture was technically painted by Van Gogh and not by KJHackerson's atrocity.

And that irony makes the prequels even dumber

Why the need to write that Erasmus painted that?

OOHHHHHHHHH Erasmus painted the very painting that Odrade loves!!

It's the same as C3PO being built by Luke's father or other such new-SW nonsense. KJA seems to like that shit as much as he likes his Master's flashy CGI.

I want my childhood* back, Lucas! :x

*Well, techinccally I was still a child when first watching those, so yea.

I thought you guys were kidding.
They changed that? It completeley invalidates all of Odrades thoughts on the painting - to make a stupid 'spin' and 'wooooo'-feeling?
Ye gods, if 'rape' was a metaphor for what else they have been doing, this should be enough to get a conviction!

Besides that, if Dortjula could verfiy the authenticity of her ancient coin collection through OM, don't you think Odrade could do the same with a priceless painting?

Idiots

And if IX did the restoration on it, they would have know it was 10,000 vs 20,000 years old...
