Since Byron took down my thread, for once I agree with you.

What is becoming of Dune and the HLP?
Dude, where have you been? Read some posts besides the ones with your name in them.
I actually liked the House Series and bought all the books up to Sandworms of Dune, but for the THIRD time they give me a reason to dislike the new books and the HLP.
Is a collective "we told you so" appropriate here? :P

"Becoming"? Present tense?

Check, oh, maybe the last 18 months' worth of threads here. Jesus wept.

I still laugh about that one every time I think about it. The dislocated shoulders is the cherry on top.

They still haven't deleted the thing about anal prolapse. I guess that's okay to talk about over there. I think Becca likes to know she's not the only one.

Meh, not particularly. It's just that around the holidays, people get depressed and look back over their lives and relationships.

I have an original foldout guide/poster given away when you went in to watch the movie at the cinema.

I'd love to get my hands on some of the toys that got made (I was a broke teenager at the time and couldn't afford any of them). Anyone remember/got a Spice Harvester or Worm?

Poor suckup... So close to all that money & fame... And no one to sell out to!
Leto II is gone for good, except for OM. The "pearl" was just that; a miniscule portion of what Leto was, and not a compressed version of the whole. The pearl that the worms have do not make them Leto, or in any way similar to him.

I can't believe that was deleted. I'm surprised they didn't respond with a long rebuttal citing all of the many positive reviews that reputable critics have given Kevin J. Anderson, along with a point by point argument illustrating the ways in which his writing is good.

Someday, it's gonna happen, and one of these reviews on Amazon is going to be written by someone who can make a specific reference to something in KJA's writing, and we will actually be able to tell that they read the book. I'm not holding my breath, though.

Gee, a post was deleted on the Dune Novels BBS... this is news where exactly?

:P

The fucks can't stand the truth, so they have to edit it continuously. Fuck them. Fuck them with a red fire truck and all sirens blaring. They are reprobates, unfit to associate with human kind. Scorn them! Scorn them and spit upon them now! They are scum and unfit. Inbred and inbreeding!

Whoa.... am I drunk or what?

They're a disgrace the human race, to plants even. They shouldn't even be allowed in the same room as a cactus.

(I wasn't implying it was news, just documenting the event.)

(OH my gawd... I'm being massively durnk in public. Oh the shame! :laughing-rolling: )

Edit: The Japanese classify people into basically two types: warai-jogo and naki-jogo. Laughing drunks and crying drunks.

When I was in my twenties or so, I was a naki-jogo. I had issues.

Now, however, I'm decidedly a warai-jogo. Once I start laughing, I can't stop....
